7TH AMENDMENT

Image
The Seventh Amendment continues a practice from English common law  of distinguishing  civil claim  which must be tried before a jury (absent waiver by  the parties) from claims and issues that may be heard by a  judge   alone. It only governs  federal civil courts  and has no application to civil courts  set up by the states  when those courts are hearing only disputes of  state leader This amendment guarantees that civil cases (disputes between people or organizations, not criminal cases) can be decided by a jury . This video is a good example of the 7th amendment because it states that two people get to hear their case heard by the jury not just the people. This photo says that any controversy has to have a right of the trial and it also has to be seen to the jury.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense. This amendment states that a person held at crime cannot be forced to wait after trial causing delays with trials. This amendment also says trials can be public and they have the right to a attorney.  This video states the importance of this amendment. Saying how trials work and how crimes are handled with the government and the public.  This photo is a good example of the 6th amendment; it says that a person that has done a crime has the rights to speak and say their parts in trial.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. This amendment is stating that without a crime or a jury we shouldn't be held to answer for a capital, except if you are causing public issues. It is also stating that no private property or liberty can be taken without reason.  I chose this video because it states why the fifth amendment is important, it stops the government from being excessive with justification and punishment.  This phot...
